With the Hobbyscout app group project, it is possible to find a new hobby with the help of the app. You receive suggestions, detailed information on materials and the hobby, clubs and shops in your neighbourhood. It also helps to make contacts with clubs and like-minded people and thus shows the versatility of the local city.

The app is for newcomers and people who want to try something new. The design is kept simple to keep it neutral for the users and the various hobbies.

Process

WHY HOW WHAT & TARGET GROUP

With the „Why-How-What“-model, we have concretised our idea of the app. The target group should be students who have moved to a new city and are looking for connections.

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION &
COMPETITION ANALYSIS

When analysing the competition, we have not yet found any similar apps with the same functions. All functions such as search, chat function and events are included in the function description.

These were sorted by effort and value in the function evaluation.

USER-/SPECIALISTINTERVIEWS PERSONAS

In the expert interviews, club members were interviewed, as well as potential users of the app. The personas were from the adaptive pragmatic centre and the consumption hedonistic milieu of the sinus milieus.

USERSTORIES & USERJOURNEYS

When creating the user journeys, we thought about how the user uses the application and the cycle before and after use. We described the individual steps in the application from the user's point of view.

MOODBOARDS

With the mood boards, we had considered designing a colorful variant that represents the diversity of hobbies in color. There was also a simpler version to choose from that would appeal to a larger target group and have a modern look.

WIREFRAMES & DESIGNVARIATIONS

In order to quickly obtain a clickable prototype, we designed wireframes using the Google Material 3 Kit. Then we implemented these wireframes with design variants 1 and 2.
