As a project, I designed a dictionary on the subject of ‘home’. In this book, I used objects to describe what the word home means to me. These objects are linked to memories and people. I chose linocut for the illustration because it has a cosy and unique feel.
At the beginning, I thought about which topics I wanted to focus on in my dictionary, and I chose the topic of home because it is very dear to me personally. I wanted to look at what the word home means to me and what home represents for me. That's why I collected words that I associate with it.
I later sketched out the rough structure of the book. Then I tried out the first sketches in different visualisation variants.
For the final colour concept, I decided on white and a dark red. I had my dictionary printed by print 24.
The paper I used was grass paper with a thickness of 120g/m². The book was in A6 format and bound with staples.
